1990 Volvo 740 GL Sedan, 150k original miles

Details

This is a safe, solid, reliable car in good driving condition, and an excellent value considering its condition and mechanical soundness.

It has been in my family and meticulously maintained since 1991. It has 150k miles on the odometer, mostly from highway driving. Anyone who knows these cars knows that they will easily go to 200k, 300k miles or more if properly maintained. In addition to being notoriously reliable, this is one of the safest cars ever built. I'm moving to New York now, and need to find a good home for this Volvo.

The 740 GL has an economical yet powerful 2.3L four cylinder engine and rear-wheel drive, which is great on the highway or in town, and gets about 28-30MPG on the highway. It does not leak any fluids or oil.

The GL stands for Grand Luxury, and came with extras like leather seats, heated front seats, top-of-the-line Dolby sound system, power windows, sunroof, and cruise control. It also has the optional rubber snow mats and front armrest with drink holders.

At 130k miles, the car got new suspension (springs and shocks/struts) front and back, as well as timing belt, fuel filter, and new transmission fluid/filter. Tires are in great shape, and easily have another 20k miles left.

Recent (this summer) work includes new brakes, new battery, a new starter relay, and it starts and runs great!

Features include:
automatic transmission with overdrive (shifts smooth and solid)
2-way sunroof (manual crank works great, no leaks)
leather interior (very good condition)
heated seats (awesome in the winter!)
class-2 trailer hitch
stereo cassette deck with 4-speaker Dolby surround speakers (still sounds great, just get a cheap cassette adapter and plug in your MP3 player)
power windows (all work)
power locks (all work)
cruise control (works)
anti-lock brakes
airbags

Known problems:
hair-line crack in windshield
has AC and was properly converted to R134, but doesn't work (needs a compressor)
headliner is falling
antenna got stuck in up position and someone broke it off (still gets decent reception though)
usual dings, scratches and minor rust for a car this age

I have a clean Illinois title for it. I expect payment in CASH ONLY. The car is in Champaign, IL. I may be able to deliver it a short distance, if payment is made in advance.
